For the sake of having something up, here’s a slightly altered version of my typical profile:

I am a graduate student of Educational Technology in the School of Education at UMass Amherst. I am also a former instructor of spline-based 3D computer modeling for the UMass Computer Science Department and have taught Computer Graphics at Smith College. I’m currently working as a consultant in the Instructional Media Lab and as Tk20 support for the Educator Licensure Office. I have, in the past, considered quitting grad school to attend a culinary arts school. I’m a very good baker.

I have an honest-to-goodness apprenticeship in medieval textiles and weaving. When not studying or working, I can be found doing logic puzzles, reading non-mainstream graphic novels, relaxing with my partner and two cats, and taking advantage of the time saved by not owning a television.

I used to work for Star Clipper Comics. I worked there for seven years before moving away for college. We won the 1999 Will Eisner Award for best comic shop in the world. I love the comic medium unconditionally. I have a love-hate relationship with the mainstream publishers like Marvel and DC; I think their new stuff is crap and their old stuff is amazing.

Some of my favorite comics (as of right now). This list is nowhere near complete.

Barry Ween: Boy Genius
Fables
Kabuki
PS238
Transmetropolitan
Top Ten
Y the Last Man
